Answer the Call to Reduce Carbon Emissions
by Taking the ENERGY STAR® Challenge

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) ENERGY STAR program and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) are once again challenging all architects to design buildings that reduce the energy use contributing to CO2 emissions.

Join the growing number of architects taking the ENERGY STAR Challenge. See if your design projects receive an EPA energy rating of 75 or higher using the online Target Finder tool. These commercial building designs are distinguished as Designed to Earn the ENERGY STAR, just as qualified products, homes, and buildings earn the ENERGY STAR label.

Target Finder also shows if your projects achieve the AIA Sustainable Practice and Architecture 2030 goal for reducing energy use by 50 percent compared to an average building.

Do your part and submit projects to EPA to be showcased at the 2008 AIA National Convention in Boston, MA. The March 15 deadline has been extended to April 2, 2008. Answer the national call for carbon reductions by taking the ENERGY STAR Challenge and receive recognition from EPA.

Online Target Finder Training Sessions

EPA is offering no-cost, online training sessions called "Designing Top Energy Performing Buildings for Your Clients" every Thursday until the submission deadline. Attendees will learn how to take the ENERGY STAR Challenge and view a demonstration of Target Finder. Sessions will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM EST on March 6, 13, 20, and 27.

Pre-register today by visiting https://energystar.webex.com. Attendees will need a high-speed Internet connection and a long distance phone line to participate.
